Reduced speeds: Is there information as to how this is determined?

I used less than a gig and service is not usable. Noticed that since I went to the "Unlimited" plan the data is nearly unusable. I work from my phone as well so I do need a reliable data connection. If "reduced speeds" are now the norm for "Unlimited" I think I need to look at another provider. Before it is asked. 4 different phones have the same issues. I will not continue to pay for a service I am not receiving. Does anyone have any good info on this? Thanks!

On the GoUnlimited plan, your data speed can be re-prioritized at any time there is significant data traffic on the tower you are using. This can be at ANY time of the day and can change from day to day.

If you use your phone for your work and need a reliable data connection, it would seem you would want at least BeyondUnlimited for your line. Then you would not be subject to this re-prioritization until after you had already used 22 GB during a billing period on that line.

Keep in mind, you can set different levels of unlimited data for different lines on your account, so if you are worried about cost, you would only have the higher cost on the line(s) you choose to have BeyondUnlimited as the data plan.

Jeremya1129, Experiencing slow internet speeds is no fun at all. I am here to assist. Were you experiencing issues with slow speeds before you went to the Unlimited plan? What Unlimited plan option are you on? We have 3 different Unlimited plan depending on what Unlimited plan option you are on can play a big part when it comes to connectivity. If you're getting reduced speeds that means your area is congested. Good luck at your new carrier. threatening to leave will not magically make Verizon give you more speed. So your best bet is to just leave

Which "unlimited" plan do you have? There are different "unlimited" plans with different details about when/if your data speed may be impacted.

I have the GO UNLIMITED plan, the speed is slower than when I was on a

fixed data plan. When is a users speed reduced? At what levels or limits

does this happen? Can I expect this to be the norm? I can't find any

information other than the statement "speeds may be reduced during peak

times".

I have not been happy since I moved my entire family to this plan. I would

rather return to a fixed data plan that works or switch carriers. Is there

better times during the day to check speed?

did you not read the terms of the plans before signing up?

Unlimited data does not mean unlimited high speed, this is what a real ISP is for. Good luck with the new carrier, only ATT is worth considering if you want to have actual coverage away from the coasts. Be prepared for awful Direct TV spam.

by network traffic? So no notice or way to plan because I could be slowed

down pretty much all the time? I would like to hear from other customers

experience before I spend any more money. It appeared the Unlimited plan

was better when I switched, I won't do the same again without research.

Besides, this has the feeling of a bait and switch, can't use the

Unlimited? For just a little more, you can use it again.....

That is why when I switched from a tiered data plan to an unlimited data plan, I chose to go with BeyondUnlimited instead of GoUnlimited. The description of the GoUnlimited plan states your data CAN be slowed at any time due to traffic and I did not want to bother with that. With BeyondUnlimted, you don't have that problem until AFTER you have used 22 GB on your phone during a billing cycle. I have had this plan for 4-5 months and have not noticed any difference in data speed from when I was on a tiered data plan. I also have not gone over 22 GB in any given month. The most I have used is probably 15-18 GB in a month.
