I recently upgraded my phone (different phone number) and need to remove my old device from my account so that I'm not paying the additional line fee.
I went in to a Verizon store and they said they would take care of it. A few hours passed and I still saw the device in my account. So I called Verizon and spoke to someone who was very nice, and she said that she had taken care of it. Today (2 days later) I checked my account and that device is still there.
Is the device supposed to stay there? How can I be sure I wont get charged the $20 line fee on my next bill?

OK - you upgraded to a new phone (different phone number) ... you added a line to get the new phone? And now you want to cancel the added line? Or the original line?
Old phone - old #
Which of these numbers do you want to cancel? The old # or the diff #?
New phone - diff #
If there is something else involved or if I've misunderstood the question, please clarify.
