Someone called me with a company name and asked if I could hear them, when I said yes, they hung up on me. I called them back and they answered with another company name so I asked if they were scammers and she hung up on me again.

I'm sorry to hear you're getting unwanted calls. I have some tips that can help keep your accounts safe.
- You have the ability to block specific inbound calls. Log in to My Verizon or My Verizon Mobile App and go to Manage Safeguards and Controls. You may also be able to block calls through your device.
- You may want to be added to the National Do Not Call (DNC) registry. Visit www.donotcall.gov. However, the DNC registry will not prevent calls from international locations or fraudster
- The easiest way is do not answer the call from unknown numbers. Let it go to voicemail. Fraudsters rarely leave messages.
- Answer the call but do not say anything. You'll often notice a delay or silence if it's a fraudster.
- Do not press any buttons on the keypad. It lets fraudsters know this is an active call.If you do answer the call, do not give out ANY personal information.
We also have the Call Filter app that will help you with unwanted calls https://www.verizonwireless.com/solutions-and-services/call-filter/
