Verizon called me today. Somebody several states away ordered two expensive smartphones on my phone number, but used a fraudulent credit card.
My carrier caught it and cancelled the order. But....
In order to fix the two devices, they have to deliver them to my house, wait a day, then get them back.
I've never heard of this.
Am I being scammed?

That sounds suspect. Usually they'll have you refuse delivery so it gets returned to sender.

They said a guy will deliver it at 10:30 tomorrow morning and will pick it up the next day.
They said it's ok to leave it on my porch.

We certainly always want clear and transparent information when it comes to devices being shipped, and especially fraudulent ones. To clarify the situation, someone used a fraudulent credit card to order devices on your account and have them shipped to your address? StanleyC_VZW
