I would think the employees should be trained whenever the announcement is made cause we all know that the phones will be ringing off the hook as soon as people hear about it.  This would also help with all of the conflicting information that has been passed around.

I am wondering if SOME of the conflicting information is because the information has changed from when it was first announced.

It may also be because a customer won't take "I don't have that information for you" as an answer and the CS rep then tries to give HIS understanding of the answer, even though he may not be correct.

I am so confused on this matter, I am month-to-month and want to eventually upgrade my line to a smartphone on my family plan and keep the same pan but the Verizon rep told me they didn't know about people on a month-to-month basis.

There are probably 30 different opinions on it. For me , I would say at least 30 days. If someone's plan is ending and they want to figure out "upgrade now or wait" its tough to do.

Why would anyone wait?  They could ungrade to an existing plan and then switch to "Unlimited Everything" when the plan is introduced.  People don't need to know in advance what Verizon plans to do with their pricing plans.  They should have never "leaked" any information except to motivate people on unlimted plans to go ahead and buy new phones if they were eligible.

Were you able to upgrade to a smartphone and only get the $30 data increase for the one phone? that is the issue we are having right now.

Yes, you can upgrade to a smartphone and choose a $30 2-gb data feature.
