Sudden dramatic drop in download speeds

I am on an unlimited data plan. I live in 28734 zip code. A week ago download speeds dropped to under 1 mps. Never was like this before. Usually 5-10 mps. Oddly enough, at 6:30 this morning I did a few speed tests, was consistent under 1 mps, except one solitary time it  was 35 mps.

what the heck is going on? Why the sudden drop in data download speeds?

indoors/outdoors no matter.  It is the start of the billing cycle so we have used very little data, we are on an unlimited plan.
yesterday we got some relief. Download speeds are ~ 1.5 mps, up from 0.1 - 0.6 mps. Upload speeds have never been effected, 6-8 mps.   This is a mystery to me.
