TCC STORES ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF

I went to what I thought was a local Verizon store. They have the big red Verizon sign on their storefront.

I purchased a new phone and added a new line and changed my other lines to unlimited data.

At the end of the discussion the clerk states it will be $215 today is that okay? I asked what these charges were for. He told me taxes and setup fees for his time. Okay, I’m fine with that. Then he mentions accessories and some REDUX PLAN. I told him I did not want any of this. He stated he took it off. Later I get home and notice in the itemized billing the $30 redux plan was charged to me.

I went to the store today seeking a refund which he refused, stating I signed for it.

I was ripped off by this TCC store. Not once did they identify themselves as a 3rd party store. While I was in the store waiting I listened to them up sell and rip off an elderly couple.

I have read about others here complaining about these practices and even higher monthly bills then promised by store clerks.

Why does Verizon allow these deceptive practices in their name? I have been with Verizon for over 25 years. I am looking into trading it all on to T-Mobile or sprint after this experience.

I agree something is wrong when this happens but seems nothing will be done about it

Sawjverizon, we value your 25+ years of loyalty and we never want to see you go. We can understand how being charged for additional fees can be alarming. When visiting an Authorized Retail location, there may be fees associated with your order transaction that are billed directly through that retailer that is not typically billed through a Verizon Corporate location. We would like the opportunity to take a closer look at the charges you received. I have sent you a Private Message. Can you please respond to that message? Thank you.

Verizon should be looking into these 3rd party stores who are participating in unethical business practices and up selling customers without their knowledge or consent.
After spending several hours on the phone w/TCC customer service they are suppose to be sending me a refund by check.
If this store identified themselves as a 3rd party seller I would never have gone to them. All they have is a Verizon sign on their store front.
I charged upfront to sign up for phone plans by TCC and now I will be getting activation charges from Verizon also. I feel scammed.

Tmobile has authorized retailers too and Sprint's so terrible it required a merger to survive.

The best way to avoid being ripped off is do things yourself. There's absolutely zero essential services you need a store for. Even if I had to emergency get a phone, I'd go to Best Buy before TCC, Cellular Sales, Victra etc.

For those unsure if corporate, don't trust the storefront. Go to Verizon's main site then click on stores. It shows if a store is corporate or not.

I too went to a TCC store not knowing it was a dealer. I bot a phone for my child and added to plan. I knew there would be an activation fee of $35. But I wasn’t told about the following fees. 1. setup Assistant $29.29.  And 2.  AZ-Scottsdale-Pavilions $65.20. No  disclosure was made to me. My invoice was put in my bag. I didn’t see all the charges until I got home. I called the store but there is only one person working there and they take phon off hook. Verizon Customer Support 4please help.
