So, seeing as how I can't get past the digital assistant and I can't get anyone to call me back, and NOT waiting on hold for 20+ minutes, I'll come here first.
How the heck do I get someone to talk to me that's a real person and will actually help me ????
But for god's sake, don't be late on your bill, don't pass up their offering to spend money, don't ignore their texts, theyre the all important, but ask for them to talk to me?

We always want to make sure you get the help you need as quickly as we can provide it. I know your time is valuable and the goal is never for you to have to wait. If there is a wait to get through the automated system though, it is because other customers are also waiting and the people ahead of you have been waiting longer so we would need to help them first. I can assure you that we take this seriously and we try to keep the wait as short as possible as frequently as possible. If you prefer not to wait though, you can actually go to https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/1d/call-us and schedule a call back. It won't make the wait shorter, but we basically save your place in line and don't make you wait on hold. Instead, when your turn comes up, we'll call you back instead of just coming on the line.
This is actually a customer to customer forum and primarily meant for Verizon customers to be able to discuss things and help each other with things but we do check it periodically and if we see someone hasn't been helped we'll jump in like I'm doing now. Because of this, nothing is tied to your Verizon service and I have no way to see your number or anything like that and for security purposes I wouldn't recommend sharing that in a public forum like this. Yup, and after jumping thru a number of books, I finally found where to click for that option. I said 10a and guess who didn't call at 10a? Yessir, you guys, so I waited for about 10 minutes, get on my bike to go out of town, get back today and there's a voicemail saying you tried to call, nice punctuality, like my time is any less important than yours. So I call back again and guess what? Now you're closed and can't help .. again !! So let's do a little recap, 5 weeks ago my problem not fixed, 4 weeks ago my problem not fixed, 3 weeks ago my problem not fixed last week, yup, still a problem, and today? See a pattern here? A promise to call never happened, a 2nd promise to call broken, get out on hold 3-1/2 hrs then transferred to a department that was closed and today, yup closed again. Now keep in mind my bill was due in there as well, and I got plenty of emails, messages and reminders that it needed to be paid, I was one day late and I get a message saying next month there will be a late fee added to my bill. Are you friggin kidding me ?!?! So I've been lied to, deceived, let down, basically dirt on, still paid you what I owe, threatened with a higher bill AND a shut off notice and you want me to be understanding of your problems as a company with covid? F*ck off!! And tell me to go to a different website? And the worst part is I've been a customer of Verizon for 11 years and you're dirtting on me like this, why? Go back in your records and look, have I ever missed a payment? NO! Have I ever been late on aha payment? NO! Have I ever given YOU any problems? NO! So why am I getting f*cked now??? This is far from over if you don't find a miracle to make it right with me, no that's not a threat, that's a promise. You've never dealt with an butt like I can be and will be, I guarantee it!!
You call *611 / 800-922-0204 during appropriate hours, follow prompts and wait? There's no secret to talk to a live agent. If it's busy, it's busy. Majority of things CS reps get calls for are things people can do themselves online.
Sunday is also the worst possible day to call.

I am convinced that VERIZON does not have any real customer service people! Just spent 45 minutes on hold. They said they would call back but the call back number doesn't work! I think the only solution is to switch to COX - VERIZON terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely agree with OP on this. I can't even get a real person. Everything I try gives me "This problem is now handled by our digital assistant, yadda yadda."
Well, I don't want to deal with your never-sufficiently-to-be-darned digital assistant. I want to deal with a human being, someone who knows more than how to read from a script. Preferably an American who could use the employment.

I waited the 30 min for a call back, was put on hold once I got that call back and after 40:55 min of being on hold tried a different number I finally got from the app (went round with DA for a half hour before settling for call back and then again while waiting on hold) I have now been waiting on hold again, still am for another 58 min so far. How do I chat or talk to a real person? This is important you have cut off my service for a payment you were supposed to make automatically!
