The "blow off" customer service plan

Does anyone know why it is that Verizon Wireless doesn't feel the need to provide a form of customer service that actually attempts to meet the needs of it's customers?  They are so big that they can blatantly blow customers off in their computer voice by saying:  "Sorry you're you're having difficulty, goodbye!", and that's it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The options the menus provide are very limited and not usually the reason for any of my calls but when I do choose something out of desperation I then have another list of options that have nothing to do with my call.  On the rare occasions that I've actually gotten someone on the phone they have always, always, always told me that I need to call some number which when called, lists the same idiotic menu options that I started with.  It's impossible to actually get customer service from Verizon because your staff isn't at all interested and just wants to shuffle you off to someone else.

I think that Verizon leaves itself wide open for some young company to come along and knock them off their complacent perch.  If some company ran a commercial that asked if you were tired of hearing this (followed by your computer voice saying: "Sorry you're you're having difficulty, goodbye!) then telling people where to call or go for real service, I think the response would be astronomical.

Until I see that commercial, does anyone know how it is that I can call Verizon customer service and get through to someone who can handle issues wireless, prepaid phone service without shuffling me off to some other area or department?

PS. My issue was never resolved.  I shouldn't be surprised any more.

you would probably like Ting www.ting.com

The one time I've had to call them, I got a rep immediately. no voice prompts or automated system.

The downside? no unlimited anything, SPRINT network coverage (aka godawful)

http://m-support.verizonwireless.com/mobile/contact.html  https://support.verizonwireless.com/contact_us/  Try the first link. Before using the second one.  I normally just enter my 10 digit cell number and when the phone menu starts, keep pushing zero on your phone. It normally cuts in with "your call is being transferred to a verizon customer service representative "  Good Luck

I have never had an experience like that with Verizon. I usually call the 800 number though and at the first prompt after inputting my cell number, I start hitting 0 and end up with a CS agent in seconds.

I call *611 and say "agent" after each prompt.  Never had a problem getting excellent service.

@Paintfa,

We strive to provide stellar customer service. I understand how important it is to have a positive interaction with the interactive voice response ( IVR ) system. As a fellow consumer I can understand your concern towards automated response systems. As others have stated when pressing 0 this will allow you to avoid the voice response and forward your concern to a representative who is more than willing to assist.

Our Prepaid Customer Service Team may be reached at (888)294-6804. I truly appreciate your continued support of Verizon Wireless.
