Tips on speaking with a Verizon live agent?

We're new to Verizon and have had no luck reaching a live agent to help us with our poor signal in our household. We keep getting calling from our landline on then put on hold for up to 2+ hours and then getting hung up on repeatedly by Verizon. Any tips on more direct phone numbers to use to reach customer servies?
