I sent a perfectly fine 8 plus phone to verizon and expected the full $200. Today I received an e-mail that I will only receive $100 because the screen was cracked. I will never deal with Verizon again and I don't know why anyone would given we can go to professionals at the Apple store which is what I was told to do when they didn't know what was wrong with my new 11. It turns out that the Verizon Rep. never activited the sim card.

Thank you for the heads up. I think I will take a picture of my phone before sending it back since I just completed the trade in process online. (as proof that the screen is not currently cracked.)

juliacat,
I am very sorry to hear about this outcome, we always try to set the right expectations so that you can get maximum trade-in value. Was the device cracked before you sent it in? Were you advised prior that the device needed to be in good condition to receive trade-in value?
