Unlimited Data Upgrades

I am very disappointed in Verizon Wireless for penalizing their loyal customers. I have been with Verizon Wireless for 6 years and am unable to upgrade my smartphone because I will lose my unlimited data. It is an outrage that the company does not offer a way for their loyal customers to use their eligible upgrades to at least get a reduction in price on devices. Not to mention with the Verizon Edge program that lets your pay off your phone throughout 24 months, is not even available for customers unless they lose their unlimited data. I am very upset with Verizon Wireless and have intentions of looking for another service provider. It has come to a technilogical age where there are many providers with comparable services. I hope Verizon pays attention to their customers and fixes these problems.

To keep unlimited data, it is either full retail price up front or the Device Payment Plan.

The discounted pricing is a new contract and new terms including no unlimited data only tiered data.

As a thirteen year VZW customer, I understand where you're coming from, but I also understand their position.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Does this Device Payment Plan work with the new iPhone 5S? It doesn't look like I can select specific cell phones on the webpage.

I just started the Device Payment plan to get a Galaxy Note 3, but I'm still scratching my head here.

Why couldn't Verizon let us use the Edge plan and still keep unlimited data?

Whether you use Edge or DPP,  neither one starts a new wireless service contract as your previous terms are still in effect.   For me, that's 1400 minutes Family Share + unlimited texting.

These guys just made a profit in excess of 2 billion dollars... would taking care of loyal customers really hurt the bottom line?

I would really like someone from Verizon to answer this question and why the CEO thinks unlimited data is unsustainable.  Is there some science behind.

Believe me, if someone would answer that question I would shut up and mind my own business.

I have no idea. However with the Edge program, you are in fact signing up for a kind of Service contract. That's not the exact words for it, but there is an agreement of sorts between the customer and Verizon Wireless.

Like DPP, Edge has you sign an agreement which could be viewed as a contract, but not a contract as in a term of service.

We really need this question answered by a qualified Verizon spokesperson.
