My time to upgrade my phone is not until 2013 but I am considering upgrading my phone. My question is if I do choose a phone, lets say a Samsung Galaxy III do I have to pay for the phone in full on my next bill or can I pay for it over time? I was looking at the phone and it is like $599. I have a Motorola Droid X2 but the signal quality is not all that great and I was told the Samsung has better signal. I do a lot of hiking and such and having signal strength is a prime concern of mine. Thank you in advance for your time.
no. you will actually have to pay for it up front. they will not add these to you bill, much less spread them out over time (i know they used to do that). you must give them a credit or debit card. it won't be "charged" immediately when you purchase. not until it actually ships. however, it will be approved for the amount so if it's a debit card, those funds won't be available in your account, and if it's a credit card, it will show as pending charges. you may also want to wait for the reviews of the U.S. version of the SIII as i don't believe samsung has been know for great radios.signal in the past.
the only part of this question i can answer is that i have been with verizon since 2003 and i am allowed $250 to charge to my bill so i don't think you will be able to charge the entire phone to your bill regardless. I believe they do require you to pay in full but i could be wrong about that.
