I'm a loyal customer, I pay monthly. But my question is, why in order to upgrade you have to pay your entire pass due?

You can only make additions, changes, or even port your number out unless your account is paid up.

IF you ant paying your regular bill, why would Verizon sell you a new phone?  It used to be the policy that a late payment delayed any upgrade for 6 months.

Exactly. If you have a past due balance on your account, Verizon's thinking is that you should pay for the services you've used already before purchasing a brand new phone. If you can buy a new phone, you should be able to pay your past due balance first.

same way any credit card company do ....if you don't pay on time even you are with them for long...do you think if you own business you will let your client borrow more money if they had not paid on time ever ....its credit check based on your payment history Smiley Happy

If you "pay monthly", why do you have a past due balance?  It's standard policy that upgrades and additions to your account are not permitted unless the account is current.  Bring the account current, then try and add to it.

King_Dukes,

As a consumer I completely understand. With the added charges and fees associated with upgrading we don't want to see our customers fall behind with there account. Not only that some customers want the ability to bill to the account which cannot be done if the account is past due.
