Verizon Data Reporting is Fraudulent

Why has my Verizon data usage more than doubled. I had previously used Verizon and I found it when I did switch from AT&T to Verizon my data usage more than doubled. What I move to a different state I switched back to AT&T and found that my data usage was like normal around 15 to 18 GB per cycle. So because of work I had to switch back to Verizon in order to get better service in certain areas of where I'm at. Once I switched then again found that my data had more than doubled using 28 to 27 GB every cycle. So what I'm finding is that Verizon is not reporting their data usage very well because on the other hand with AT&T I had a very low amount of data usage and now suddenly what is Verizon doing the same thing as usual now I'm using more than 27 to 30 GB and I'm 10 days into my cycle. Why is Verizon lying about the data usage for every individual?

Considering the max Verizon tops out for data plans these days is 8GB, your usage would have you on unlimited data which makes usage a moot thing to care about.

Not every individual. All of the lines on my account have their data reported by Verizon to accurately mirror the data recorded on each of the individual devices on the device's internal data counter. Have you checked whether or not the amount reported by Verizon is equal to what is recorded on the device's internal data counter?

Good afternoon, Dgallardo1991. We're glad you returned to Verizon. It's important for your data to report accurately, so I understand your concern when it's higher than normal. We always want to be up-front with our customers. I'm here to help. How do you primarily use your phone? Did you have the opportunity to review your data usage? Refer to step 2 under General Information for more information. Does this help?

My Data usage that Verizon Wireless showed was inaccurate. I first thought this is isolated event. The Customer Rep. agreed that he could see that I didn’t use all of my data. I had to buy additional data until tech dept. could fix. I was told the Tech Dept. would fix. If any issues would call me and see credits for data.
I talked to Corp. about on going issues on  ‘data’ problem and told they were crediting and reducing monthly. Those promises never were done. I really believe out of my 2 phone numbers that one shows my 85 year old Mom who doesn’t know how to text, use Google or Safari and doesn’t know how to email ~ yet Verizon shows she chats, used up half data and this is maybe intentional for Verizon to get extra money from Customers. I think if more people are having same issues than please reply. Someone needs to have Verizon cut this out. I am fed up Verizon should have done what they promised. You are a valued customer and we appreciate your loyalty and tenure, Ellen37. Providing you with the best service and accurate data reporting is a top priority. You mention that credits would be provided for data. Please note that if the data usage was confirmed for your mom's device as indicated in your message, no credit would be issued. What is your mom's phone model? We can share instructions to monitor data on that device.

You can also check data usage online with the Data Utilization Tool as per number 2 at this link (https://www.verizon.com/support/data-utilization-faqs/).
