At the moment I pay 120 a month for my service. My question is if I go with v edge . What will be my monthly bill? Online it says 70 dollars monthly but I am guessing that's not the whole bill amount. I don't want to pay 170 dollars every month! Im not ready for an upgrade. would be nice to get an upgrade with the edge. not paying extremely high bill every month though.
Can anyone guess what the amount might be?
Thanks!

just to confirm: Edge is a ripoff/scam. Don't fall for it.
This is not necessarily true. If you enjoy the ability to upgrade on a more regular basis then Edge may be worth it for some people. With the new line access discount Edge can actually save a person a little money if they use 10+ GB of Data. Example
2 - YR Contract (10 GB Data Plan)
iPhone 4S currently free + plus $30 upgrade fee
[$40 (Smartphone Access) + 100 (Data Plan)] x 24 Months = $3360 + Taxes and Fees
Total out-of-pocket in 2 years = $30 + $3360 = $3390 + Taxes and Fees
Edge Plan - Agreement (10 GB Data Plan)
iPhone 4S currently $449.99 (No Upgrade) + Sales Tax up front (8% for my area) = $36.00
[$20 (Smartphone Access) + $18.75 (Smartphone Payment) + 100 (Data Plan)] x 24 Months = $3330 + Taxes and Fees
Total out-of-pocket in 2 years = $36 + $3330 = $3366 + Taxes and Fees
Edge Agreement = $24 + Taxes and Fees less out-of-pocket when compared to 2yr contract
Now if you do not require 10GB+ then you can do the math and out-of-pocket will be more on the Edge Plan, but you will be able to upgrade when you like (as long as 50% of retail is paid on your current phone). For some that is a perk worth paying for.

As Elector indicated in his post the Edge program allow you to get a Device you pay at the time of purchase the Sales tax and then you pay roughly a cost of $25 to 28 Dollars a month this is on top of what your current plan is) for Data if verizon is still offering it they have a plan called Max it's consist of 8 Gigs of Data.. First you don't even state what you current plan is or what phone you want. Second this is a customer to customer forum.(removed)
If you are currently under contract you can't upgrade to Edge anyway. You have to be off contract and have 6 months of on time payments.
With Edge you will pay $30 for line access if you have a8 GB or less data plan or $20 line access if your plan is 10 GB or more. You also have the cost of the "data" plan depending on how much data you choose. And then you have the cost of the phone divided by 24 months. Note that is the FULL PRICE cost not the subsidized upgrade cost.
So for example for $120 you could get a $600 phone( something like a GS 4 ) and 3 GB data for about $115 a month. Or 4 GB for $125 a month plus taxes fees.

You do realize this is primarily a customer to customer forum...any guesses we have would be just that: guesses. If you want a quote you have to call or go to a store. I would imagine you didn't get any replies because you asked a pretty specific pricing question that no one felt comfortable answering.

Thanks for the replies. I have read the facts on the V edge on this site. As far as people being afraid to answer. This says a forum /where people ask questions and should get answers. V edge is a scam. I am a long time Verizon customer but there is NO way Im going to pay extreme amounts of money when I can go to another legit carrier . get the same phone , same plan and the amount is the same as my current/with me being under a 2 year contract. Plus I wont be paying 600 dollars for a phone. So keep the scam . Thanks!

Personally I would not use the Edge program because I see no benefit for me. I don't want to upgrade every time a new phone comes out, and just entered the world of smartphones with my last upgrade.
All I meant was that this is a place for customers to discuss things and that a lack of replies shouldn't make you angry with Verizon. I apologize if I offended you. I think Edge is great for some people, but personally I think it is a complete ripoff. I also think a lot of people have quickly reconsidered after signing up. Just make sure you ask lots of questions and totally understand before signing. Good luck to you!

don't go to T-Mobile then. You are required to pay full price for phones. to get at&t's new plan you need to pay full price for the phone. To get on Sprint's new Framily plan you also have to pay full price for the phone. Also Edge is OPTIONAL no one said you had to go with it.

I never said ANYONE was making me go to the V edge. Many other carriers out there for me to choose from. So spare me the stuff about other carriers and the deals that they offer. Im well aware of whats going on. I only asked a simple question about the V edge. I was not upset with Verizon /or lack of response. Im just not going to pay for things that are not worth hundreds of dollars. I want a working phone and I want a monthly bill that's not over 120 bucks. I don't think I ask for to much. Anyways. at the end of the day its my decision. not people on a forum will not be a part of my decision. I was curious and was hoping an Verizon mod would actually respond. Thanks for the replies!
