Who can I contact to discuss an early termination fee?

Who can I contact to discuss an early termination fee I was initially told would not be charged?  I've chatted twice (conflicting information), spoken to the customer service number twice (conflicting information) and had a supervisor call me yesterday to say nothing could be done unless I switch the phone back to Verizon and he's the last person up the chain to discuss the issue.  He stated it's in my contract and I asked why the chat and phone services don't preface with "we cannot guarantee the accurary of the information you are about to receive".  I asked for corporate informatin and he said he didn't have it.

Tthe only people to discuss the wyd with would be customer service, and it appears they gave you correct information. This is a peer to peer forum; but if you explain what happened we "may" can help.

Hello,

We had three lines, two still under contract and one out.  My son broke his phone (under contract) and wanted his own contract through T-Mobile.  I called Verizon to see if I could switch the remaining contract to my out of contract line and allow him to take his number to T-Mobile.  The rep said no problem, gave me a code to give T-Mobile and a number to call the next morning to finalize the transaction.  I called and was told I got bad info from the other rep, but I could bring the line back to Verizon to avoid the ETF.  I said this didn't seem fair as the Verizon rep gave me incorrect info.  Shortly after my conversation, I chatted with another rep who said not to worry.  She didn't see the ETF and if it posted, to contact verizon who would not penalize me for receiving inaccurate information.  A month later the charge was on my bill.  I chatted again, pasted the info from the last chat and was told there was no way to do what two reps had said could be done.  I requested a supervisor contact me and he said the only way to avoid the ETF was to port the line back  I said this seemed very unfair that Verizon reps can provide incorrect info and I'm penalized   I understand it's the contract but what is the point of contacting Verizon for info if it doesn't matter what they tell you.  All I wanted was to allow my son to keep his number, get his own plan (he would have stayed with Verizon if the cost was competitive ) and keep my out of contract phone under contract for the balance of his service agreement .  I asked the supervisor for the next manager up and he said there was  no higher place to go.  I asked for the headquarters info and he said he didn't have it and couldn't provide it.  Just doesn't seem fair.

I asked the first rep if I could let my son go to T-Mobile and keep his number and to transfer the remainder his contract of my out of contract line.  I was told that was okay, then when I called the number I was provided to complete the transaction, I was told it was not okay

You can't switch contracts between lines.  You will have little recourse from what we see here.  You will find better advice most of the time from users on this forum.
