Why am I being punished for a manufacturer defect?

Why am I being punished for a manufacturer defect? My G4 is stuck in a bootloop and now I have to wait 5 days for a replacement because I don't have an insurance plan. I was told if I had the insurance plan it could have been over-nighted. What a load of [removal required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service] ! A manufacturer defect has nothing to do with the insurance plan when your phone is still under the manufacturer's warranty. So now I'm without a phone for almost a week. Is this how you treat your customers Verizon? I could understand if I caused the problem with my phone, but I did not. I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR ALL THE DAYS I'M WITHOUT MY PHONE! Now I'm paying for a phone I can't use and have to wait for the replacement.

You should bring it up with LG. It is their good and even when dealing with them it'll take weeks to get a replacement from them unless you are willing to give them your CC info.

You really need to have some kind of back-up phone if you can't survive a few days without having one. Do you have an old flip phone you can use in the interim?

You may want to pick up a cheap used smartphone on Ebay or Swappa so you will be prepared if this happens again.

Breaks of the game. Even RMAs will not be done overnight due to how expensive it is. A one pound box, for example, can cost anywhere from $20-60 in FedEx and UPS charges. Given how often people break their phones, or phones encounter defects, such charges would make FedEx rich, and would make everyone else a little more poor each month as those shipping costs will come out of our monthly bill due to Verizon being for-profit and publicly traded.

At a bare minimum whenever I RMA a computerized component it takes a week, because most manufacturers require me to ship to California, and then there's about a week of "Inventory and Repair, then ship via Ground" backlog.

If you have an older phone around, just activate that until your G4 is replaced, then reactivate the G4. It's nicer to have a phone with a SIM slot which works on Verizon because it doesn't involve Verizon to activate. It's wise to have at least a burner phone around if you don't have an alternate way of doing business/keeping in touch. Myself, I keep a Verizon flip phone around - doesn't need to be charged for months and works great for calling 911 even without service.

YYou can also suspend the service without billing so you aren't charged. Keep in mind you will not have access to any voicemail. Or you can forward your cell to a landline or something like google voice.

You are not being punished for anything. The warranty replacement guidelines are clearly spelled out. You chose not to get the insurance a benefit of which is the overnight shipping of warranty replacements. You also had the option at the time of the warranty replacement order to pay extra to receive it sooner. I am guessing that you chose not to do that.

I Find it funny when people don't take the insurance; then complain about procedures afterwards.

Verizon is NOT the manufacturer. Verizon simply facilitates the manufacturer's warranty and they do it faster than the manufacturer. If you are unhappy with how Verizon facilitates the manufacturer's warranty, you can deal direct with the manufacturer and be without a phone for a LONGER period of time.

This is why I keep my old phones in case I need/want to switch out to a different device.

You can suspend service without payment but it won't change your bill much.

Insurance replacement requires you pay a deductible.

WArranty is free replacement for a defective phone.   Warranty coverage is from the manufacturer and the manufacturer strictly controls the terms under which you can get a replacement phone, including the wait  for  shipping.

Verizon  only the middleman In either transaction.
