Why do trade in values of smart phones change from day to day? Yesterday it showed $90 now today it shows $45. What's up with that? How can I get the best value for my LG G2?

Supply and demand, phone is dropping in value, more people buy phones on Saturday, or because people take the easy way out - any of the above and more.
Why why trade it in for such a terrible payment? You can sell online at glyde, swappa, gazelle for over $100 likely.

IS there a better day of the week to trade in my old phone for a new one?

Yes, the G2 (which I still use) is good for around $135 on Swappa, but there are tons of them for sale now. I would keep the phone as backup (save on insurance) unless it is worth a couple 100 dollars on some promotion. Trading for $50 might have you feeling remorse the next morning.

Seriously keep it for backup instead of paying for insurance or sell it on swappa, which is not hard. But don't get the ripoff trade in amount Verizon is offering you, even at $90.
