Why do we have to pay for poor coverage solutions when we live near towers

I live in the I5 corridor and get very poor coverage even though I'm in a highly populated area surrounded by multiple towers. I used to get good reception, but now 1 bar and dropped calls. Verizon gave me 3 solutions to try.

"We've investigated your concern, and though Verizon has the nation's best network, we found that the signal strength in your reported area is less than optimal. This can lead to weakened and reduced network connectivity, especially indoors.

No need to worry, however - because Verizon has several options available to make sure you get the highest quality service in these situations! Here are a few steps to try:

If available, you can enable HD Voice, which provides even better call quality over Verizon's LTE network. With HD Voice enabled, you can also enable Wi-Fi Calling, an amazing way to help boost call quality securely whenever you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
HD Voice and Wi-Fi calling are your best options for improved service, and we make these amazing features free in order to ensure you always get the best possible service. (Don't have home wifi and HD voice didn't help)

Or, if your device is not HD Voice or Wi-Fi Calling capable, we also offer Network Extenders for sale that could enhance the voice coverage in a specific location, and they can work with multiple devices!"

Comment:Vz is not currently providing adequate coverage, though they used to. I already pay a lot for data, why should I have to buy an expensive device to fix their inadequate equipment?

What else is suggested?

Switch to a different network?

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Verizon isn't a utility company, you're free to switch.

You're not the only person using the network. If it's congested, calling CS isn't going to change that.

Lisaacso, we can understand your concerns about purchasing a Network Extender. Another option you do have if you have home internet is to use Wi-Fi Calling when you are home. There is no additional charge to use Wi-Fi Calling. For additional information regarding Wi-Fi Calling click: http://spr.ly/6600Gfcyn

I am having same issue. Can't afford additional bill to improve poor coverage. I live in an area with no access to internet. But am less than a mile from the tower. I can't do wifi calling and desperately need a solution. I have been calling about this issue for more than a year with no solution.
