My jetpack is very slow, even though it says 4G on the jetpack. Does Verizon throttle down speeds? I have recently downgraded my account from 10/month to 4/month. I didn't seem to have this problem when I was purchasing 10/month. If you purchase more data, do you get better speeds? Thanks!

Hi yggm!
Let's satisfy your need for speed! Current zip code? Which Jetpack do you have? Do you experience the issue in more than one location? Is the problem ocurring in our outdoors?
Thanks,

I've been having the same problem for over a month. my zip code is 37922. I travel a lot and I've never had such consistent slow speeds with this thing as I have this past month. I've had my jetpack over 2 years and I can definitely tell the difference. I even went to verizon and got a new sim card put in it and the software is up to date. I've connected it to my iPad, iPhone, and laptop at multiple locations and went to speedtest.net to check speed. Here are a few of my test results:

Has the jetpack just crapped out after 2+ years of 10 gb/month?

My Jetpack is also slow. It's slower on 4G than on 3G. I have reset it and removed / reset the SIM. Nothing has worked. In zip code 11201 and 11231. Need help.

Geologymule, we don't want this to be an ongoing issue for you. The last resort to resolve this matter would be to hard reset that device. To retrieve the steps on how to do this, click this link http://vz.to/1kDL3MI

Sorry. I forgot to mention the steps I took so far:
I first removed the battery and SIM card and reseated them with no
improvement.
Then I pressed the "Reset" button to return to factory settings (which
I never changed except for the connection type). Still got no
improvement there either.
Then I bought a cell phone paddle antenna, and things got worse when I
plugged it in. So I abandoned that.
Finally, I kept switching from 4G to 3G and testing the speed and
finally settled on 3G, but Monday and Tuesday of last week even that
didn't work.
I also tested in 2 different areas: Zip code 11201 (work) and Zip code
11231 (home) with a slight improvement at home but not full speed
there either. I also tested outdoors in Zip 11201 to eliminate
building interference.
The odd thing is that the signal was reading 70-90% for much of this testing.

My Jetpack is model MiFi5510L
I'm going to try and do the factory reset right now. See if that works.

DoxMox we'll pinpoint the issue! Has there been any physical/water damage to the device?
