Won't honor online pricing

Early upgrades are possible but pay no attention to online pricing. I went through 2 supervisors & they refused to honor online pricing. And was told by Eric (a supervisor) that they don't honor online pricing. I was given many excuses as to why they wouldn't honor the price shown. But finally told by Eric they can make a price whatever they wish. The old bait & switch. False advertising what ever you want to call it. Customer service was never this bad with Alltel. Has anyone else been told by customer service that they don't honor online prices? The first supervisor Oscar even went so far as to pretend he couldn't hear me after I asked to speak to his supervisor. They even tried to say the price my computer was showing was wrong. I had both my adult kids to sign in & check the advertised price they saw was the same price I saw. I even copied the page & printed the page & did a screen capture & saved it to my computer. These clowns were making up rules each time I caught them in a lie. And they have now changed the price to the price they claimed. I have never received such poor customer service.

This is old news, always been that way on verizon since we have been with contract phones.  If we bought in store we have always paid up front out of pocket then got our upgrade discounts back by way of rebate but if we order online we get the straight out price with discounts so what's wrong with just ordering on line and paying the discounted price?   I have never had a problem getting a phone from verizon online and getting the discounted price it showed on the screen so I don't understand what your problem is, it's very easy to do.    Mary

Reading comprehension *IS* a great skill. Based on my reading comprehension of what you're saying:

A) You're not eligible for an upgrade (yet - you're a month away)

B) You're not ordering your phone online.

C) They're offering you the phone at the CUSTOMER SERVICE pricing (which is different than online)

D) They're offering you the phone a month early as a COURTESY.

E) you're being outrageously rude at them having the audacity to be so nice as to make an exception for you and give you a phone before you're eligible.

Unfortunately, you live in the real world, where you do not get to have your cake and eat it too. Either wait for your upgrade date and get the online pricing or accept their MORE THAN GRACIOUS offer to let you upgrade early at the regular 2 year price.

And stop being so nasty to other VzW customers who are trying to help you. You're the most hostile forum poster I've seen here.

Good morning trunkmaker,

I would like to provide some clarification on the concern that you have on equipment pricing. Historically, online pricing at www.verizonwireless.comare often cheaper than other channels. The price can vary between $0 -$100, depending on time of year, rebates, etc. Such discounts are passed along to the customers to PROMOTE online shopping. Keep in mind that ordering equipment online is convenient for both the customer and the company. When ordering online, you have the convenience of not having to drive to the store to shop. Also, we provide unbiased information on the device and it's specs, not to be confused with other customer's opinion.

You also have the luxury of having the device shipped to the address of your choice. For most people, this is a GREAT benefit if they travel a lot. If you have any questions or concerns then you have the option to contact customer service for assistance but keep in mind that online pricing isn't streamlined to all channels. For example, if there is an online rebate then that same rebate may have to be mailed-in if ordered by phone or purchased in the store. In some cases, the same online rebate isn't an option in the store or by phone.

In the store you have the luxury of a sales rep to help setup your device in the store. By ordering online, you have the luxury of having the undivided attention of the customer service rep to walk you through any setup options and concerns that you may have. Online pricing is strictly designed to promote online shopping, which is the website's greatest advantage when being compared to other channels. As a customer, you have three avenues to purchase equipment and I encourage everybody to choose which avenue works best for them. Personally, I like online shopping since I know how to setup most of the devices myself so I don't need the one-to-one attention from a rep. I hope this helps in clarifying the difference.

Thank you...

Verizon's sight-of-hand continues unabated!  I spent over 2 hours trying to get Verizon to honor the discount that comes up on screen when I went upgrade my phone.  I was handed back and forth between different departments for quite awhile until Verizon could get their story firmed up.  Apparently it took that long to find a reason they wouldn't honor the $100 discount that is in their online system.  I find this typical of Verizon and I've long since lost any respect for them as a corporate entity.  Before I upgrade my phone, I will look long and hard at other vendors!

Thank you....for nothing Verizon!
