This is just really inconvenient I was told I was going to get a gift card for switching over my phone numbers and bring in my own device little did I know these gift cards can only be used at Verizon and not to pay off my previous provider as I was advice I could do

I'm sorry to hear that your gift cards were not what you expected! I can certainly understand why you would be frustrated, since it seems to be interfering with your plans to pay off your old provider. One option is to apply the gift cards to your Verizon bill. If you do that, you will be able to use the money you save paying your bill, and use it to pay your previous service provider. Will that work for you?
