Blackberry's and other smartphones are not compatible with the Connect and Premium price plans. Since they would not be able to use the features of these calling plans, they have their own individual data packages.  Smartphones/BBerry's are compatible with Basic/Select plans.

And you would be able to add a Smartphone/Bberry to a Connect/Premium family share plan. You would just need to make that secondary line a Select Secondary.

Since the Smartphones add their own independent data package, the features offered in Premium/Connect plans are rendered useless and are not compatible. Those plans are designed for normal phones that use those included features.

The data package that would be added with smartphones gives you Unlimited Email and Web already, and is a mandatory feature.

So you would be doubling up on those features.

In laymens terms, there's no point in having Vcast Vpak that gives you unlimited mb usage, when you have a blackberry/pda plan that gives you unlimited data usage as well.

Wouldn't make sense.

This doesn't mean you CAN'T have a premium plan, but it does mean that if you're the primary line and want a blackberry/pda on that plan, it won't allow it, UNLESS you're a secondary line. So therefore, the only way to get around that is to make your line the secondary thereby removing that "bulk" price for the premium plan and allowing you to just hav ethe "basic" secondary 9.99 line, but of course retain the unlimited pix/flix/text

Again, a premium primary line cannot have the blackberry/pda with a data plan, but a secondary premium line (that is not the 29.99 rate) can have the blackberry/pda with a data plan.
