1....bought(at full price) a tablet, and switched between the tablet and phone as you would switching two phones without losing your unlimited plan
2....signed up for the 1 month hotspot for $30 (for 1 month only, like say for vacation), and using your unlimited plan with the hotspot, without losing your data plan, of course
i have talked to no less than 8 reps at different times and have gotten yes and no answers equally. it is not so much about trying to see if it works,,,it's about getting the unlimited data plan BACK if they f**k up

- No, I wouldn't even dare try that.
- I have subscribed to the mobile hotspot feature for several months and still have my unlimited smartphone data plan. The feature is added or removed from the Change Features area not the Change plan area.

it sounds like you activated the hotspot from your account, not by calling 611 ? am i correct ?
this is why verizon support is so screwed. some said i cannot use my unlimited with the hotspot but clearly, according to you, the unlimited is available

I also have added (and removed a few times) the hotspot feature. You can add and remove it online via My Verizon. You don't have to contact CS to do it and it doesn't affect your unlimited data plan. Can't help you with the first question but I'd be careful with that one.

I have never called customer service to activate or remove the hotspot feature. If I can do it online, I will use that method before calling. I have had a VZW rep on the forum help me future date a removal once because the website wouldn't let me have the feature removed at the end of the current billing cycle so it wouldn't be on the next billing cycle. That didn't last long so I have kept the hotspot feature activated since then.

To clarify what everyone is telling you the Hostpot feature is 2GB for $30 per month. Not unlimited at all.

Yes, but thats not what they are talking about at all anyways. They want to add a hotspot device and make it use their unlimited plan

That's not what I read from the OP.

That's not what I got from the OP either. The way I understood it was that they wanted to add the hotspot feature to their device which has unlimited data. That feature will give them unlimited data using the hotspot feature (this is what I have and it's always unlimited data since it uses my current unlimited data plan). If they meant something different then hopefully they will come and clarify
