scam alert: text from 7137251@verizon.net

Hello,

My husband and I received a text from 7137251@verizon.net stating to contact Wells Fargo at phone number 717-444-1055.  Upon calling this number, it was answered by a computer stating there was a problem with my debit card.  It proceeded to ask for my social security number and debit card number.  I DID NOT supply the information.  I would like to find out if any other Verizon customers received the same text.  If you did, whatever you do, DO NOT give your information.  This is a scam!!

I received the same text from 71381904@verizon.net today at 6:13 p.m.  It said "(Contact-[WellsFargo]-Call(713)444-1055."  I Googled the number before I called it and found this post.  Thank you for posting!

You can forward scam messages to phishing Verizon investigates many of these, but not everything. This one looks worthy of forwarding.

I got one as well . The only difference is it came from 5128500@verizon.net. I forwarded it to the phishing@verizonwireless.com
