upgrade available 1 April-broke phone but representative told me no room for 16 day early upgrade

I am very disappointed with Verizon, I upgraded my daughters phone to an Iphone 5 last week as her birthday present. I have an another upgrade on my account available 1 April on another line. My blackberry is broke, it started having issues with the rolling ball and i cant text without holding the ball down and the cursor moves all over the place on its own. I figured since the upgrade is only 16 days away they would grant me an upgrade since it was under a month out.  I explained to the representative that my blackberry was having issues and tried to see if I can go ahead and use my upgrade and was told no i had to wait for 1 April. Understanding rules are rules but you would think verizon would handle situations and make exceptions for certain situations. I just spent 200 last week to upgrade my daughters phone, have spent a lot of money over the years. 16 days and they cant budge.

Thanks for nothing.

Hi Proud. Unfortunately computer programming is at this time setup to follow specific commands. In this case, the specific command is to upgrade for 4/1 and 4/1 only.

Were you talking with someone at your local Corporate Verizon store or via the *611/800 number?  Sometimes the local Corporate store will let you upgrade a few days early ... and I've heard of some folks saying they were able to upgrade a week early (but you won't be able to upgrade early at all if you're wanting an Apple product, and I doubt that you'll get an early upgrade for a just-released phone).

I know someone who has upgraded early before, The phone i want to upgrade is between iphone 4 since it is free right now or the older samsung galaxy. Regardless, Verizon is disappointing.

Well their system needs to learn the handy CONTROL ALT DELETE method to take care of their customers!

As tiki wrote, Apple products aren't eligible for early upgrade even if customer service sees the need for one.  You already are getting an early upgrade since Verizon Wireless lets their customer upgrade at the 20th month point in the 24 mounth contrct term.

Can you borrow another phone from someone in the meantime until your upgrade?

Do you (or a family member, friend or neighbor) have an old, but functional, phone that you can activate and use for the remaining two weeks?

Not sure I follow since i have a blackberry and want to get the Samgsung Galaxy. I dont have another phone, its no big deal since i am able to talk but texting , email , and anything else is not easy to do .  Now i know  their whole system could come to a break if i am granted the 16 day advance.
