E-Mail Security Update for Outlook 2003

Is there a specific deadline for making the prescribed changes to my email account?

What will happen if I ignore the notice?

I really hate the idea of messing with the settings; Outlook 2003 is so hinky in its own right.

So, what's the downside of NOT making the changes?

Decreased security? Disabled email capability?

Thanks!

I must ask, what security settings are you talking about?  I'm not aware of any changes required.

He is referring to the email customers are getting which documents the change to SSL. There are multiple threads here already on this topic (it sure would be nice if people would search first and add their posts to existing threads rather than creating new ones).

The availability of using SSL with Verizon email is not really new, I have been using it just fine for many months. But Verizon has apparently now decided to officially announce the ability to use SSL (and maybe require it soon?).
