I am unable to access my E mail again today. Get message that "no E mail preview available at this time" Then you can not even get into In box. This has been happening now for several days. Called for tech support and was told that it was my internet explorer. Funny how I can go on any other website and even access my G mail acoount on Google. Thank God I kept it. I have only had Verizon since October, but I foresee that I will be leaving when my year is up. Tech support is terrible. Most that I have talked to are not very knowledgeable at all. That system wide problem that was reported on this forum a few days ago was never even mentioned to me. In fact, I was told that there was no problem.

I am on email all day and have not seen any issues.
Where are you getting this error message from, the web mail site or from an email client such as outlook, thunderbird etc.
If you are using IE, have you tried a different browser (Google Chrome, Firefox). If you have IE did you try cleaning it out (delete history, cookies, etc).

What URL did you use to log-in from?
Here are two example(s):
#1 http://webmail.verizon.net/signin/
#2 https://www.verizon.net/ssowebapp/VOLPortalLogin?TARGET=https://www.verizon.net/ssowebapp/protected/EmailLoginHelper

It is NOT a setting issue. For the past several days Verizon's POP and SMTP servers have been up and down like a yo-yo, among the messgaes are timeout's (and mine is set to 3 minutes), 'Service Temporarily Unavailable', and I have also had Verizon.net tell me I have no email when in fact I have over 100 messages sitting on their POP server.
So far nobody at Verizon seems to be prepared to either own up to the issue, or even hint at when it might be fixed.

Not to argue with you, but I can promise you that I have been using Verizon's mail servers for both sending and receiving pretty heavily in the last few days, early morning to late at night, and have not experienced a single problem, either sending or receiving. And since I have Windows Live Mail configured to display both the sending and receiving date/time, I know that at least for me, in my area, there have not been any delays in delivering email to me.
I am sure Verizon has multiple email servers scattered around the country, I suspect that what you are exeriencing is limited to a (hopefully) small set of servers, because it most certainly is not system-wide, and that is why support is not acknowledging/aware of the problem (but they most certainly should be aware of any problems anywhere in their system).
At one time Verizon had a web page where they listed known outages. I think the page is probably still there, but I don't think they keep it updated any more. That's a shame, it was a good place to go first if you had email or browsing problems.

It is an intermittent problem. Today I would get in the E mail and then 10 minutes later I could not. Verizon service reps are, in my opinion, not too knowledgeable about computers, let alone the Verizon service. Once I got a good one but usually, they are poor. Today , all I wanted the rep. to do was report the problem for me. If no one lets them know they have a problem, it won't ever get fixed. She was unable to report it. Said it wasn't coming up on her screen that there was a problem. Oh, well, I was warned but didn't listen.

They still do.

But there is nothing there (or it is way out of date) as you said....

Yeah, it's down for me too. It's not necessarily the service that upsets me so much, but the sub-par customer service. If I could get straight or knowledgeable answers, i'd be more willing to work through the problems. Instead, I always feel I'm being given the run around with them.

I too have been seeing this problem, can't find POP or SMTP servers. Then sometimes it takes about 5-10 minutes and it connects and finds the servers and starts downloading the emails. Looks like it is running very slow or just too many users connecting to the servers at the same time.

It's down for me again, too - message says unable to process my request please try again. Verizon is without doubt the worst, most unreliable email server I've ever had. I'll be switching to comcast.

I don't know about anybody else but wapp.verizon.net is down a lot. Almost every other day or so. I cannot access my email directly on the Verizon Central site as it is down also. I think they need some equipment upgrades as it seems to be down a lot. Tried emailing but with no results from the upper management. You Verizon.net IT guys need to look at this hard as it seems to be a reoccurring problem. I have to wait until wapp.verizon.net comes up before anything works. It's the entire site that is down.

Mine two. Second time in 2 weeks. Live agent can't help and techie on the 800 number couldn't either. According to him, no one else had a problem. My YAHOO account works. Verizon needs to do something
