The emails in our inbox drop off ... There were over 700 emails and then there were 25. After about 10 days the same thing happened - we had about two pages of emails in the inbox and all but about 25 of them dropped off. I contacted Verizon after the first time and was told there was no way to get the emails back. I don't see a setting to turn this off.

Any time mail disappears from the server, there's a pretty good chance there's some device pulling it off. This can happen even without you intending it to. For example, the default Verizon setup for a long time (and possibly still) configured Outlook automatically unless you were paying attention and unchecked the box during the install.
The easiest way to fix it is to change your password. Once the device(s) can no longer authenticate, the disappearances should stop.

In settings, email settings , filters do you have any filters set up? Also are you any where near the limit for stored messages? Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear about this issue.
