I am trying to access my email and I am getting the following error message:
Sending of password for user xxxxxxxx did not succeed. Mail server incoming.yahoo.verizon.net responded: (#MBR1212) Incorrect username or password.
I have been successfully accessing my email via Thunderbird on my desktop, my LG G2 smart phone, and my iPad until this morning when the error messages started. I have not made any changes to my password. What gives?
I can't get email on any of the above devices now, although I can access my email on the Verizon Yahoo web site.

I have been having the same issue. What I did is that I changed the password that didn't seem to work then I added the @verizon.net to the username in the account settings for my email application and that seemed to get rid of the error

since you specifically mention incoming server login I wanted to make sure you are looking at the same part I am talking about. Now I using outlook and I don't know anything about thunderbird.
incoming mail server should be incoming.yahoo.verizon.net (this is what I am assuming you are talking about when you say it is already there)
user name login (or something similar) is where I suggested to add the @verizon.net
If you actually have the @verizon.net on your user name then I suggest you copy all the information in the account, delete you account settings for thunderbird then create another account.
Again I do not know about thunderbird and I am not a server admin.

I actually have the @verizon.net as part of my user name.
Also, the same error occurs when I try to use outlook to access the email.

I had the same problem using Thunderbird on my PC. I added @verizon.net to my user name to fix the problem too.
It would have been nice if verizon or yahoo or whoever made this change had sent an email about this change prior to it happening to let us know ahead of time that we would need to do something about it.

OK that is progress. Only wish this announcement had gone out yesterday, but getting it today is better than nothing. How exactly would a user of Yahoo get this announcement? I didn't see this in any emails and would not have seen it if I was not on this community forum today.

I can now access my email via Thunderbird. I found a setting under Account settings/Server Setting that needed the "@verizon.net" added.
