My primary email account will not take my password on my Samsung Note 2 or Outlook on my desktop PC.
Noticed this morning when my Samsung note popped up a message telling me the password was wrong.
My sub accounts are fine and can get email.
I can log in to MyVERIZON.COM and being paranoid I went ahead and changed my password.
Still cannot login after password change, and whilst trying the verizon webmail page I noticed it doesnt even load. Returns some SQL garbage and not an HTTP error code.
Possible reasons:
The 'broken' email account is the oldest (2009) so I am thinking that perhaps there was a server failure and the backup for that account is on a tape backup and just hasnt been restored yet. Thus the reason my newer sub accounts apear to function normally.
Have the port numbers changed again?
Here is what I curently use.
outgoing.verizon.net |using SMTP = 465
incoming.verizon.net | using POP3= 995
Of course that wouldnt explain why one account stopped working suddenly.

Probably just need to wait awhile. I just tried to get my mail via my pc, and the server is responding " Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server pop.verizon.net responded: Service Temporarily Unavailable".

Indeed, waiting will probably be the best solution; but why issues with just one account?

Does not work with Win XP, Win 7 nor Android. Verizon mail is by far he worst I've had and that cover dial up from 25 years ago. When this contract is up their out. Their act as though this a free service with wait times of 45 minutes.

It's out in Florida as well. Lots of people nationwide are affected according to Verizon's Facebook page. Of course- no mention of the problem on their facebook page-just a whole lot of angry people. Worst customer service-I can't wait till my contract is up.

Having the exact same problem. Main account gets the error code
{"res":{},"error":{"code":"3002","msg":"3002"}}
but all my sub-accounts work fine.
So frustrating!

Same problem, and this is my only Verizon email account. -- on my device I get a message refusing my credentials, and when trying to access the Verizon mail server on my Mac I get the same error message as Pippin:
{"res":{},"error":{"code":"3002","msg":"3002"}}
Verizon website not addressing this so far.

Same problem for me. My sub email accounts are working fine, but my primary email account will not log in on my phone or on outlook. When I tried the webmail account, it gave me a white screen with only the following error on it:
{"res":{},"error":{"code":"3002","msg":"3002"}}

Same for me, same error message. As if running an email server is that difficult.....*grumble* Maybe they need to hook the NSA in more efficiently.
Is there any place where Verizon posts outages and estimates when the service is available again?

Be sure to post on their Facebook page about the problem. Someone seems to be monitoring it.

Tried webmail from central NY and get this: {"res":{},"error":{"code":"3002","msg":"3002"}} Same as reported earlier.
So it is safe to say it is Verizon and not us.

In New York, called about 10:00am. Said they are working on the problem, gave me a repair number and said it should be up by 7:00 Friday. Hopefully, they said, it won't be that long

Hi all-
Verizon is aware of the issue and it's being worked on. For up-to-date information, please go to Verizon.com/outage.
I'll also update within this thread as I learn more.
Thanks,
Heather
