Just started having issues responding to email on my Android smartphone.
I reply and it says 'Unfortunately, Mail has stopped.' This is the mail app with Verizon settings.
I can reply from the Verizon website - webmail, but cant reply on smartphone. What's up with this?
This is on my HTC smartphone and started today. I can compose and send, but i cant reply. Weird.
I tried clearing cache on the HTC phone and that did not help at all.
I guess the next step is clearing data and then re-logging in. I dont like clearing data though. You lose stuff. i dont like losin stuff or settings.

So there are 2 solutions for this... First is get a new email app which i did. Had no problem with it after that.
The other is to uninstall the latest Android update on the Android System Webview. That was the culprit.
Clearing cache, force closing, clearing data, restarting, deleting account and adding.. nope. that didnt help this one.
SO i chose to add a new email app and it is great. That is what i would recommend. RIP HTC Mail app. i think it is an HTC app.. came with phone. Just say no to the Mail app.

The forwarding also doesnt work.
I tried to call in, but the phone system is messed up and says call cannot be completed as dialed. ugh
I did all the steps correctly , but the system is experiencing problems. How can i get a human? Sad.
Go through all those steps and then tells me i can wait and there will be a delay and then it tells me cant be completed as dialed.

So i have tried Force close, clear cache and clear data and restart, then it still had issue. So i deleted account, re-added and same issue. So now i am thinking about getting a new email app. This Mail app has issues and HTC couldnt solve it either. Any suggestions for a good mail app that can forward or reply without this annoying message?

Just a post to counter this experience a little bit, I have a Verizon Galaxy S4 with Android 5.0.1 installed with the default suplied email client, and I can read, send, and forward emails without any issues since migrating to AOL mail last week, tested again this morning to be sure. I have not tried replying on the phone since migrating but I don't expect any problems since forwarding works, guess I will find out soon.

Ok, so you are using the Mail app on your Android phone, correct?
That is where the issue was.. with that Mail app on my HTC phone. I am liking this TypeApp app as a replacement to that.

Yes. The only thing I can think of for the different experience is maybe one of us had a fix that the other didn't. But my Mail app definitely still works.
At least your email is now working with that new email app, which is what matters the most.

Ok, cool. Maybe you didnt do the update to the specific Android update that causes this issue. That could be it. Anyway, it worked out for me because that Mail app is limited and now i pull in 3 diff email accounts.
