The window for viewing my email messages is only about 1 1/4". Is there any way to expand the viewing area?

  1. On the horizontal bar directly below the message list, click on the down arrow and you can drag that bar up or down to vary the size of the viewing pane.
  2. If you double click on a message it will open in a separate, larger viewing pane.
  3. You can go full screen on your browser while in mail.

from Walts suggestion #3 - Press F11 for full screen. Also view= toolbars - uncheck all but, leave menu checked.
