I have been having intermittent complaints from people who email me who say their messages are not getting through. This has been happening for several months now. I have actual examples that I can share (including messages to myself) of messages folks are getting when they try to email me OR my wife. The response they get is either:
Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address. Mail server for "verizon.net" unreachable for too long. (from MAILER-DAEMON@yahoo.com)
Or:
Your message has been enqueued and undeliverable for 1 day to the following recipients: ME (*** Test message to myself from VERIZON ***)
On 11/18/2011 I contacted support and was told to change my incoming & outgoing port numbers – which I did. This is still happening (as I expected) since my retrieval has no effect on the delivery of a message to the server.
Please check into this and advise me as to what will eliminate this problem.
Thank you,
MikeG
Ps - This is my second attemopt to POST this message. The first time I made the mistake of hitting Spell Check and the entire app blew up - I lost everything I had typed into the box - what a {word filter avoidance}!!!

Verizon support is in receipt of this issue. We will send you a PM to gather additional information.
Thanks,

I am having the same problem with my family's email accounts. Mail from certain domains are not getting through. What has changed to Verizon's SPAM filters over the past 2 weeks? For example, it appears to be blocking/filtering the umass.edu domain????
Regards,
Mike Brown

If it wasn't for the FiOS technology I'b be back with Brighthouse in a heartbeat - I never had problems like this with them!

Were all of the messages identical to that one? the To address is incorrect in that message, and would probably never successfully send.
The Yahoo/Verizon issue happens when Yahoo blocks Verizon's servers or vice-versa, and is usually cleared up within a day or two.
