Got rid of Yahoo portal but Yahoo Groups website kicks me to Verizon main page?

After being hacked several times, I got rid of the Yahoo e-mail portal. I haven't accessed Yahoo for ages but now I need to make changes to my Groups account and can't remember my password. When I click on "I can't access my account" from the Yahoo Groups page, it opens the Verizon main sign-in page (where I'm already signed in). But entering the Verizon password on the Yahoo Groups page doesn't work. I also tried e-mailing Yahoo support but the site won't even let me send a message without including information that I can't get (because trying to access it again kicks me to Verizon, which then tells me my Yahoo ID is invalid). So, I have no way to access my Yahoo account. Can anyone tell me what to do? Thanks!
