After two hours on hold I finally got a soul to talk to but just to find out that nobody knew how to set up Verizon email account on the new iPad. It took me a few minutes but I figure it out by myself and I will be glad to share it with anyone by just calling me {edited for privacy} ( Verizon Wireless by the way - lol ).

Why not search for iPhone setup instructions on these forums? I have posted exact step by step instructions or configuration summaries at least three times in the past 6 months on this topic.
Here's one ....
The above one specifically deals with Verizon mail via the Yahoo portal. For Verizon regular mail you would modify as follows:
POP Account Information
Name: Joe User
Address: joe.user@verizon.net
Description: Verizon
Incoming Mail Server
Host Name: incoming.verizon.net
User Name: joe.user@verizon.net
Password: ******
Outgoing Mail Server
SMTP outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net ->
Primary Server ->
Host Name: outgoing.verizon.net
User Name: john.user@verizon.net
Password: ******
Use SSL: Off
Authentication: Password
Server Port: 587
Advanced
Deleted Message
Remove: After One Week
Incoming Settings
Use SSL: Off
Authentication: Password
Delete from server: Never
Server Port: 110

I have done this process and have my verizon email on my IPhone. I use folders a lot and my folders are not present on my IPhone except for the Inbox. With my Hotmail and Gmail email accounts, I was able to get all my folders included. Any idea how I get my verizon folders to also come over?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

I was having trouble not with the set up of the email of the phone but of the deleting email from ipad/iphone/outlook i have gone through and tried everything and sat on the phone for hours trying to get someone to tell me what to do. you would think if verizon is carrying these products they would know how to use them correctly!

Ok so I am getting and sending emails. Your directions were perfect. But it is still not bringing over any folders except my inbox. How do I get my created folders as well as the other basic folders (sent and trash)?
Thanks for any further help you can provide.

POP3 will only pull email that is in your inbox. You can sort them once they reach your email client, but it won't pull any custom folders from webmail.

here at the Apple store and I and the Apple emplyee verified this works! just add "yahoo" after "incoming" or "outgoing" before .verizon.net so it looks like this:
"incoming.yahoo.verizon.net"
and
"outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net" (under SMTP)

Bumped this instead of starting a new thread since it's basically the same problem.
I just tried adding my Verizon webmail to a new iPad (still on ios5). I can access webmail fine, with the same credentials, through a browser. My iPad settings are:
POP
Incoming Server
Host:
incoming.verizon.net
Use SSL: ON
Server Port: 995
Outgoing Server
SMTP
Primary Server: outgoing.verizon.net
Use SSL: ON
Server Port: 465
I DO NOT get my mail through Yahoo or MSN.
When trying to retrieve email the iPad hangs for a while and then tells me that incoming.verizon.net is not responding, check my account (mail) settings.
Incidentally, I followed the instruction in the repair link that's been posted in various places. It gave me a "Step-By-Step", albeing confusing, series of instructions which I followed.
Any help would be appreciated.

I did, but it was a while ago.
I saw a post on another forum that suggested, when entering the User Name in the Incoming Mail Server settings, you omit the "@verizon.net". It worked for me.

I just tried this with my Aunt's new iphone 4s and it worked perfectly. The default for the incoming was pop.verizon.net and for the outgoing server was smpt.verizon.net. I changed to respectively to incoming.yahoo.verizon.net and outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net and they both work perfectly now. Thanks Depagter for the Tip!!

You need to set your email to NOT save downloaded email on the server. This is a standard POP3 setting for any email client. It appears the way you have it set it will only delete the copy on your iPhone. Be aware that since this setting deletes the email from the server when you download it, it will be gone from the server and not be available on other devices or the web, only on the device you first read it on.

Hi Hubrisnxs, I've tried many times to do what that link instructs us to do, and i always get the message "The POP server "pop.verizon.net" is not responding." And yes the ipad (mini) is connected to the internet, and all the fields have the correct info.

I'm pretty confident you can't do that with Verizon because they don't support iMac. Imap is the type of email that will let you do that. Verizon does standard pop3.
