I just received an email, supposedly from Verizon, with the subject: "2nd Notice - Action Required Now - Important Changes to your Verizon Email Account".
Since the salutation is Dear Valued Verizon Customer, I'm leery that this is legit.
The crux of this email is that I need to change my email settings from incoming/outgoing to pop and smtp to continue to receive emails via Outlook, Mail, etc.
Is this a legitimate email from Verizon?
Thanks.

I received thye same e-mail, changed the settings and could not send or receive e-mail. Changed back to incoming.verizon.net and things returned to normal. When i made the initial change I did change the port to 995. So why did the settings in the e-mail not work?

Yes it is, but I tried the suggested setting on my Motorola Android Razr M and the outgoing server ones did not work, no matter what I tried. The incoming server ones finally worked OK. I changes the outgoing one back to what I had before audit works again. That need to check there suggestions more carefully.
Since these settings are currently working for many people across many platforms/devices, I'm going to say they weren't configured properly.
If you can provide the settings you are using (screenshots are extra-helpful) with any personal information redacted, that would be very helpful in determining your particular issue. Any error messages you are getting would also be super helpful.

Again, without knowing what settings you are using, it is impossible to tell you what will fix it.

Their "suggestion" is correct. You need to make the change. NOTE THE CUTOFF DATE, beyond which you may no lonter have access. I don't know if anynone here is familiar with your client and can make suggestions as to what is wrong.
