The "Go to Classic View" link does not exist on the web page Verizon keeps forwarding me to. Instead of posting a picture of a web page, how about posting the URL for the web page that has the "Go to Classic View" link.

http://webmail.verizon.com/signin/Login.jsp is the URL I use to get to webmail. When I log in I get the new webmail if that is the way I was  using it when I logged off, or I get the old webmail interface if I was using that. But in either case I have the option available once logged in to switch to the other interface.

The URL you posted, after signing in (even after first deleting all cookies), forwards me to a web page that does not have the "Go to Classic View" link. What is the 'exact' URL for the web page in the image you posted?

I found the answer to the problem.

Using the URL http://webmail.verizon.com/signin/Login.jsp kept fowarding me to a web page at http://webmail.verizon.com/webmail/driver?nimlet=showmessages&view=emails, which does not have the "Go to Classic View" link. I searched through the HTML source code of that web page and found the URL http://webmail.verizon.com/signin/VMCOptOut?src=vmc. Using that URL forwarded me to the old Classic View web page.

So, for those who keep getting forwarded to a web page that does not have the "Go to Classic View" link, you can get to the old Classic View web page by changing the URL you use for signing in to http://webmail.verizon.com/signin/VMCOptOut?src=vmc, after which the "Go to Classic View" link will exist and can be used to return to the old Classic View web page.

Well I sure don't understand why that would be happening to you and not me. Glad you found the fix.

You previously asked me for the exact URLs I was going to, so here they are:

To log in to webmail:

http://webmail.verizon.com/signin/Login.jsp

When I was previously logged in to the old classic interface and I logged in again I wound up here:

http://webmail.verizon.com/netmail/driver?nimlet=showcanvas

When I was previously logged in to the new interface and logged in again I wound up here:

http://webmail.verizon.com/webmail/driver?nimlet=showmessages&view=emails

Note that this second landing site URL is the same as you were getting that did not have the switch option, yet I do see the switch to classic view option. One of life's little mysteries I guess....

Justin,

Thanks for the URLs. I am going to save them in a text file for future reference.

Why I (and others I've seen posting saying they didn't have the "Go to Classic View" link displayed) had the problem and you did not is a mystery to me too. I am just glad I finally solved the problem and got back to the Classic View web page that does not have the Message View pane, which was one of my two complaints regarding the new e-mail web page.

Verizon should consider providing the ability to disable the Message View pane on the new e-mail web page.

Very suprising how unstable webmail is. The new interface is much better, but the whole session crashes when a carrage return is entered, consistantly. Search function also doesnt seem to work.  almost unusable
