Mail session timed out when importing contacts

I am trying to import contacts from my .csv file. I have saved them from outlook to my desktop, but when I run the importer in Verizon email, it tells me I have timed out from my mail session. I can go back and send email, so I know I am not timed out, but it seems like this feature just isn't working. I have tried from other machines and get the same thing.
Any advice, or should I risk it and call tech support?
