New iMac with OS 10.8 and MacMail 6 changing to the newly required settings do not work.
Anyone else have this problem?

They don't work with Mac Mail 3.6 either. I spent two hours on the phone with Verizon techs in two phone calls - their conclusion was that the settings weren't yet ready for the Mac.
I am so frustrated. I have this terrible feeling that Verizon is simply going to cut off all of its Mac customers.
I don't know what to do.

Can you provide a screenshot of your settings? (Obscuring any personal info, of course.) Can you provide the error message you are getting?
Many people have gotten the new settings to work on Mac platforms, but without seeing your settings it is going to be very hard to figure out where the problem is.

Update to OS 10.8.4 and use Software Update/App Store to update everything else to go along w/the OS update. After you done w/all of the installations, repair permissions and restart your computer.
Reset your email settings per Verizon's instructions. Restart your computer when done. Settings work now?
