Not able to activate spam filter

When I try to activate the spam filter on the webmail, I get the following message:
Unable to update Spam Detector Settings
Any advice? Thanks.

Hi, I'm using Firefox. Also, on another email account on which the spam detector is activated, I continue to receive lots of spam emails daily.
