Outgoing email problem

I use MSN for email and recently updated my account to the new high-securty settings.  I receive email, but can't send.  I'm not getting an error message, the system will just keep trying to send the same email for hours.  I've checked the settings several times and I believe I've followed the Verizon instructions.  Does anyone know the fix??
