I've seen several posts about this already, but they seemed to be dated from some time ago. I just connected with Verizon today, and I was immediately unable to send emails via my desktop client through my custom mail servers SMTP. I have read that this is due to port filtering on Verizons side. I've already configured my router, so I know this is not an issue on my end. Has there ever been any resolution to this? Don't tell me I'm going to have to cancel and go back to Comcast after only one day of Verizon headaches. Thanks in advance for any help.
Fyi, some custom mall servers don't use 587 as an alternate (might use 80 for example), so you will want to find which alternate port your servers are configured for. As long as they don't use 25 then they should be fine
