Settings to remove email from web mail inbox

There are times when I need to use web mail to check my email inbox. Then, when I get back to my computer, I import the emails to my local system using Mozilla. How can I set things up so the web mail inbox is automatically emptied after the emails are sent to my computer?

Most email clients on PC's do that by default.  There is usually a setting that you have to set to leave the email on the server, often for a set number of days like 7.  Unset this option if you want the email to be deleted when you retrieve the email.

I found the box and unchecked it. Have not tested it yet.
