Unable to access in what way? Are you getting an error? Is a page not loading?

My email software from my MAC quit working yesterday for sending email (standard Apple email program).
It connects to the server, but can't log in to send mail according to the Mac connection diagnostics. Originally I thought it was send and receive, but it looks now like it's just sending that's a problem.
Are you running on a MAC?

which webpage address are you using.
i know some people that have had trouble getting onto http://webmail.verizon.net have had issues, and when they go to http://webmail.verizon.com they seem to be able to access.
my advice is to sign on at http://www.myverizon.com and sign in there, there might be a step where the website wants to link your username and password together with your email.

Thanks for the advice....
When I go to the link you posted http://www.myverizon.com It acts like it wants to load then I get an error page "IE unable to load page" three tries later no luck. I noticed it redirects to www2.verizon.com/ ...../signin and then craters again.
Howevr, as I wrote this I tried again and it came up andn this is the link displayed - which means it had my log in onfo stored and it worked http://www22.verizon.com/foryourhome/MyAccount/Protected/Overview/MyOverview.aspx
What a puzzle...

We are having the same problem here in central Va. Since Friday morning, I can't get any websites that are Yahoo! related to load(i.e. email, My Yahoo!, News, Weather). I'm using DSL and a friend of mine that has FiOS is experiencing the same issues. I chatted with a support rep online, but all he could do was give me a 800 number to call. Called it a couple of times and nobody has picked up either time. Does anyone know what is going on?

I just ran a Verizon "Service Checkup" on their website and according to its findings I don't even have a Verizon email address. Wtf? I've been experience glitches with this entire website along with mediocre speeds in general (and ridiculously slow speeds when it comes to navigating the actual Verizon Website.)
Not a very good first week experience with FIOS Triple Bundle. Maybe Comcast wasn't so bad after all. At least I could watch more than four channels online with their Xfinity as opposed to Verizon's exceptionally pitiful, Epix, Disney, TBS, and TNT lineup...this is with the 35/35 internet, Unlimited Phone, and Ultimate HD package, by the way.

I have been having the same problem for 2 days. Althogh I can' access Verizon Central, email or anything. It either keeps going back to a sign on page or the address bar keeps popping back and for to STIPservlet and STIP remember. The only page that comes up occasionaly is the sign on which prompts for a secret question, is this legit, and do you need it if you don't want so sign in to My Verizon?

There's definitely something weird going on with the signin process across the board ... started for me a couple days ago as well. If I try to go to the forums, it does the STIP thing and eventually issues an error message about "file not found" and then if I immediate type the forums URL again, it renders the signin page and everything works fine. Sounds like the session manager is having issues -- but I can't put my finger on the cause yet.

I finally got to the sign in page where you put in your screen name and a secret question. I singned in from there and now it seems fine. Except for an occasional 440 error.

Ongoing three days now.
When try to connect to verizon.net my browser "ping-pongs" between STID poster and "connecting to....." when or if it ever connects I get a 404 Page (no URL).
If there is a new address to get to email I'd like to know what it is.
I was able to get in finally at webmail.verizon.net but the "home page" address set up when I installed DSL does not work.
Any ideas or status updates on this?
I am in west Texas.

I can't access my email either. I login to my account through verizon.net and it shows a few new messages but when I click on to read the mail, I get an error message" Can't connect to netmail.verizon.net." The one message I want to read, under the subject it says "Important change to your Webmail" I can't open because of the error message.

I too am having problems getting my email. sending works fine but getting it is next to impossible.I came access it by loging in through anothe service (Comcast, at&t) but through my verison line nothing. I live in lancaster PA. And I'm not the only one I know in the area that's having problems. I.ve tried thru the web (Firefox, IE) and trough clients (Outlook, wondows live mail, thunderbird). The last mail I could get through the verizon line was from the 20th.

I can get into my incoming box but all of the messages disappeared 8/19. I began receiving new messages but the old ones have not appeared. Message line under screen log in tells me I have 19 unread messages but inbox is empty. Vernizon tells me it's a server glitch and to check back 8/23. This has happened twice -- 8/12 and 8/19 Pat123

In the URL string that's displayed in your browser when it fails ... what hostname is it trying to go to? Can you open a command window (Start -> Run -> "cmd") and run a "tracert" command to that hostname? I've been chasing a problem for a couple of local people in the neighborhood who are on DSL that can't reach the Yahoo! webmail portal and in there cases it appears to be a routing issue in the Verizon cloud ...

I found while not being able to Get my mail directly I did find a way of getting the newer mail. I changed the setting for forwarding the emails to my gmail account. This way I can read my emails until verizon get's it's act together an fix the problem. The only problem it willonly forward the new emails, not the ones that are waiting for me to read.I like to keep some of them that I find important within Outlook but this isn't posible at the moment.

Actually, if you have a gmail account, you can go into settings and then under the "Accounts" tab and set it up to poll in your mail from your Verizon mailbox -- no forwarding involved. Sender's header is preserved and if you go thru the verification process you can even set it up so that you can "reply" to the messages using your Verizon address instead of our gmail address.

Hey that worked! Thanks for the help. Now if only Verizon would fix the problem.
