Hello,
I'm not able to send or recieve emails from Verizon this moring using Windows Live Mail. I've rebooted my PC but still problem pesists. Below is the message I receive. Is there an issue with Verizon mail this morning?

A/o 05/21/14, 0740, I can receive but when I try to send (both using Mozjlla thunderbird) sending times out.

Can receive mail, cannot send.
Client: Thunderbird
- Last successful outgoing message 5PM 5/20. First failed outgoing 9PM 5/20. Symptom was NB connect error 1460.
- Discovered outgoing server was set to outgoing.verizon.net, port 587, password sent insecurely (honestly don't know how it got there, since last outage Feb 2014).
- Changed outbound server to smtp.verizon.net, SSL/TLS, port 465, per Verizon instructions at http://www.verizon.com/support/residential/internet/fiosinternet/email/setup+and+use/questionsone/86...
Still no luck. BTW I can ping outgoing.verizon.net, but smtp.verizon.net appears DEAD ("request timed out").

These are the new settings:
- Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.verizon.net
- Incoming Server Port Numbers: 995
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.verizon.net
- Outgoing Server Port Numbers: 465 Why is this important?
- Make sure SSL encryption is enabled for the incoming and outgoing mail server.

There a big issue with Verizon servers in the Boston, MA area.
