I use Outlook for email and periodically it stops working giving me the message that it can't connect to the outgoing server. It started again two days ago.
I just got off the phone with Verizon support. They told me to take the 'yahoo' out of the server names and just make them 'incoming(or outgoing.verizon.net'. They gave me several port numbers to try. Nothing worked and they claim I just have to accept this till Yahoo and Verizon completely separate.
Even using Yahoo mail web service is annoying as emails take hours to reach me sometimes.
This is very frustrating!! I can't believe there is no solution. Please help!

Simply taking Yahoo out of the server name doesn't actually change the account. You don't have to wait for the separation of Yahoo and Verizon. You can migrate your email off the yahoo partnering and back on to the Verizon servers. If you decide this, you will lose anything saved on the Verizon-yahoo webmail. Anything you have already downloaded to your outlook will stay in your outlook. If you want to do the migration, please send me a private message so I can enable the switching on my end.

Once I go to www.verizon.com, then what? I couldn't find/figure how what to do next to unlink the account from Yahoo.
Thanks,
Hal

How will this affect sub-accounts? Will they automatically be unlinked, as well?

I wanted to separate yahoo and verizon email too. I am in account setting not seeing "Online Experience" option.
I am seeing tabs Personal Information/Email setting/Bining & Payment/Password Securities.
What is the next step.

Sorry for the confusion. Since the website has changed, to get to the change screen is a little bit different. Here are the new instructions...
~Log into www.Verizon.com with your main Verizon account
~Click on the "Welcome LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME"
~In the pane on the left hand side, click "profile"
~Scroll down to the "Online Experience" section
~Click "Change my online experience"

Sorry to hear about the troubles with the site. I am curious to see what screens you are seeing then. We will want to remotely access your computer and see what screens you are prompted with and walk you through it. So we can get more information from you, I have copied your post to our private support board. Please refer all correspondences to there from here on out. You can easily get to the private support one of two ways. In the email you signed up for the forums with, you will receive a link to click on. Make sure you are already signed into the forums before clicking on this link. Another way of getting there is by clicking on your username anywhere you see it in the forums. This brings you to your account profile. Scroll down to the section labeled "My Support Cases" . In there you will see the link to your case.

Since we haven't heard back from you to see if any additional help was needed as requested in your private support case, it appears assistance is no longer required. It was our pleasure to help get the email issue sorted out. If you need any future help with your Verizon service, please make a post here on the forums so we can assist.

Hi Anthony,
Prior to having a verizon account, I had a personal yahoo account that I still use. With the Verizon/Yahoo account, it had the same handle. However, my personal yahoo account had been compromised about a month ago, and whenever I try to reset my password, I am automatically sent to Verizon. What do I do?
Best,
S
