I've cleaned and repaired my registry, restored my computor to an earlier time which will help for a day or two but then does the same thing. I need some help!! gchalot, I have the same issue as you report. My issue began after installing patch KB2585542, resolved upon uninstalling it. If anyone else can solve this issue, I'd also appreciate the help.

I installed the same update. It says it's an important one. I usually install all the important ones. I'll uninstall it and see what happens.

The only ones that can correct this problem, would be the Verizon email software techs. Don't hold your breath waiting for them to do so.

I was getting the HTTP 501/505 messages as well. Uninstalling the microsoft update KB2585542 helps. But when is verizon going to do anything about this issue. I'm asking because my computer is going to install the update daily so I'm going to have to delete it daily. Has verizon come up with any suggestions yet anybody.

I've decide to leave it alone and access my mail from windows live mail. I've run into the same thing, I uninstall and my computer wants to install it again. At least when I use windows live mail, my images come through when I forward my email where they don't using verizon. I don't think verizon knows how to fix that either. If anyone knows of a permanent fix, please post.

Absolutely uninstall update KB2585542. The person suggesting that was right on the money. I did uninstall and everything was fine.

I would not advise doing this but if you choose: Go to control panel, click on add or remove programs, find windows updates scroll down to update you want to remove and click on remove program.
This is an imporatant security update. Verizon is working on rewriting their software to be compatible with Inrenet Explorer. I will use a work around as described on these pages to do that. Sign into E mail with old E mail sign in page.

Thanks, I did remove the update and it worked. When Verizon makes themselves compatible I will reinstall it. I had used the work around you described for the past couple of days but it seemed needlessly annoying. It would be helpful if Verizon would inform their customers of a problem when they discover it. Thanks again for your response.

I am really getting disgusted. They take away MSN Premium, which I love, and now I cannot access my email in Verizon. I have reset and reset my account, but whenever I click the email button, I get the send text page. Maybe it is time to find another DSL provider. This one isn't working too well
