4 years ago I bot my email address from verizon when I moved from their service area does their getting out of the email business impact me and if so how

The short answer is no.  But they will be moving it (assuming you are not a Verizon/Yahoo email user) to AOL (A Verizon Company).  The web interface moves over, but the server names, email names, ports etc, can all remain the same.  The do recommend you change your password, but even that is not required.
